Tuesday afternoon Dearest, [12-29-42] The letter you wrote Christmas Eve and the one written on Sat nite both came today and were both post marked at 730 Sunday evening. There is certainly no system out there about the mail service, and the telegram I sent at 2:00 or 2:30 on Christmas day and they told me it should get to camp in 45 minutes But it was up to the communications officer as to when it got delivered to you. Since it didn't sound like an emergency I'm not surprised that it wasn't delivered to you until Saturday. I guess you didn't write on Christmas Day or else the order of the mail got so mixed up that Saturday's got her first. This isn't your letter for the day. This is the extra little note that I sometimes can get sent to you. It has to do in place of any of the special little things I'd sometimes get to do extra for you when we were together. I want to write of our love and all the good thoughts we have and everything. But I don't want to write in a way that makes it harder for you to be tough.
