817-19 St. S.E Cedar Rapids, Iowa December 31, 1942 Dearest, Seven-ten and I'm sitting in front of the radio with a sort of no account program being broadcast. By clock time I'd been home about 40 minutes from Centerville after a tough trip a year ago now. By the change in time, I was between Fairfax and home. Pretty soon you were telling me you had a ring but no license. Such pieces of things I remember, so vividly too. We were both doing so much fidgeting it all seems unbelievable now. I suppose Hazel and Earl are married now. They were to be at Dr Bready's house at 6:30 and then were going to the tea room Mr. Darr's daughter runs for a dinner. Ray and Emilie sent me an anniversary remembrance card today. Ardy has invited me over for a short evening of cribbage with her and her parents. She's been in all the time with her cold so that I suppose she would like mild diversion. I'm tired and weary and don't want any long visiting job, but a while should be fun. Its funny but my feet have hurt like heck today. There is no good reason I know of except I've worn the same shoes a couple days straight and I usually alternate pairs. A little more estate business today. George was still in a good humor on the subject. He stopped tonight for his Perpetual Pass book and deposited his share there to his account because
