Saving...
feel bad. But some of the letters in which I try to say some of our longer thoughts besides just the plain news I put a lot of effort in and it really is more like a conversation together if I go over the writing and you the reading so as to get it all as plainly as possible. Some folks might think it funny I'd spend a lot of time to write you when I write every day, and yet those same folks wouldn't think it funny if I spent a couple hours in the evening in visiting by talking with you if we had a home together. And these letters are just written talk. Alberta told me to tell you Jim finally got back to Indianapolis to study the secret weapon. He went there two months ago and had to go back South as the FBI hadn't completed the investigation of his character. She hopes Esther will get to visit him there as she couldn't go South after she took the City Hall job. Everybody at Albertas has cold or fly. Aunt Maud and Uncle Earl left Tuesday because thats the day they had planned on. Aunt Maud got out of bed to go, they got sleepers and she said she'd rather be sick at home. She wrote a card telling Alberta she was home the worse for the trip. The time has flown as I have sat here and thought and written. I hope we're both tough today and tomorrow and I think we will be. And the days that follow should be easier for our having done a good job on these. I love my husband. A year ago now you weren't yet my husband but in my anniversary letter tomorrow we will really have completed a full year. Now its only 364 days that we have been on our way to companionship forever. Goodnight, laddie. Love, Laura
