Saving...
Dearest, Its is really April 15, but I'm writing this letter for Wednesday's. Hazel and I went to the late show so it was too late to write when I got home. It was a "Random Harvest" a 1917 war story. It is a lovely picture with good acting. After work I made a chocolate cake for office dinner there. Night. Then I went to Hazel's. Carl is still on day shift and may be for some time. Hazel still expects to quit at Penines on May 1. The work at the office goes much as usual I may find myself children's counselor pretty soon. It will be a job under Office of Civilian Defense (OCD) on a three month demonstration basis to see if such a service is needed here. If so, I'll be permanently employed. If not I have several other agency offers. It will be to provide and supervise care for the children of working mothers, or kids whose parents both work. Cedar Rapids now has an amazing number of employed women and more are to be hired. I'll write more details in an air mail letter when there are definite developments I love my laddie. Laura :)
