Saving...
Dearest, Sunday evening, just past seven o'clock. The sun of course is still high. I slept late. Had a good sleep of almost twelve hours. Once I woke up and could remember I had been having a terrible time about something, and then you were there and had hugged me and I knew for sure all the difficulties were over, you had set them right. Just like you always did when you came home or I could go to you. So you see you help me all the time, even when you have to be so far away. To church and a good service it was. I felt sort of glum for no good reason yesterday and today, but Mr. Jacobs put out a few good ideas. I don't know what it was, the setting, the __, the prayers, I don't know but it was lots easier to be tough after church. I have to try to be tough; but I am staying at it good because you taught me and because you are still helping me. It is one real love, isn't it? Mrs. Patrick called and almost made me late to church. She sends greetings. Says Louis __ is fireman on a north Africa train. __ with soap man over the fence. Talked with Mrs. Fisher about two hours. Then I went to Linwood but the stone wasn't in yet. Then on to the farm. George was plowing frantically trying to catch up after all the rain. __ came before I left to visit with them. They are fixing up three rooms and will move out there later. Geo is all fixed with the draft board and he is really at the job of farming. When they move that ought to be a lot better. Geo and I had a decent talk. No smarting off in importance or foolish ideas. I love you laddie. I wish I could do more for you. But love and prayers are the biggest things anyway. Love, Laura
