No. 48 Pvt. Lloyd Davis, 37420240 Co. C.-9th Bn.-1st Repl. Depot A.P.O. 761, c/o Postmaster New York City. Mrs. Lloyd Davis 817 19th St. Cedar Rapids, Iowa May 4, 1943 Dearest, Such a windy day, and still cool. But at that the fields and roads are drying good. But it is hard on hats, hair, and the steam needed to run fast enough to catch up with one's clothing! I had no disasters, but there were people that did! Took a book to Virginia. She is starting her first lecture series to new home service workers and she is finding out she'll really have to mop her brow! I'm going to help whenever she asks, and she has already scheduled me for one two hour lesson on case work. But the main burden is hers and she has a big job. She can't hope to whip up in a few hours what some of us spent weeks to learn. She is working hard and doing the job all right. Went to Center Point today. I almost never see any one there that you know. I'm not there the right time of day. Had another letter from the family agency in St. Paul that wants to interview me. I'll see them if I get to go there to visit Ardy some week-end. But I'm definitely not interested in working in St. Paul. The child job here
