No. 63 Pvt. Lloyd Davis, 37420240 Co. C.-9th Bn.-1st Repl. Depot A.P.O. 761, c/o Postmaster New York, New York Mrs. Lloyd Davis 817 19th St. SE Cedar Rapids, Iowa May 19, 1943 Dearest, A very funny day today, and it still rains. I began early on a transient case -- a woman with seven children, and it seems after a day's work that I've barely begun. I got the Red Cross class done, cut it short on account of this case. I had supper with Mrs Hunt. We took shoes to the repair shop and then ate pretty early. And then I took her home and dropped in at Hazels. She wanted more "curtain help" so I helped her study the catalogue. Then as I left there, I met Aunt Min. I took her home. She had been at Lokers. The first time since Christmas, and she was looking fine. She had bad rheumatism all winter but it is gone now. She is so spry and pleased. I hadn't been home long until the phone rang. Mr. Dorr called and we had quite a visit. When I hear from you then I call him. He said tonight he had been having heart trouble and he didn't sound well like he usually does. Then the social worker to whom that woman belongs just got to town, so I had to talk on phone some more. I love my laddie, Laura
