No. 90 Pvt. Lloyd Davis, 37420240 Co. D. 39th Inf. APO 9 c/o Postmaster New York, New York Mrs. Lloyd Davis 817 19th St. SE Cedar Rapids, Iowa. June 15, 1943 Dearest, Usual work day today. Had it enlivened a bit by an interesting psychopathic case. And at supper time I ate at the Harmony with the boss, the nutritionist, and Esther. Then they went to the show, I took Esther home, stopped a minute at Hazels. Then home. Called Emily and told her about your good letter. Esther and I washed dishes, putting everything away in the newly painted cupboards after being washed. Called Lenore too. I try to tell the people I think will particularly care when I hear from you. I don't want any one to expect to get a report, I don't make it that formal a report. Except I do want Georges to realize I call every time I hear from you. George gives the impression he writes to you a lot just like he gave the idea before but he hasn't taken down your last two addresses, so I reckon he is some behind in his letters. His farming is going better than it was. He trades works with Trachta (doesn't Trachta owe you money?) and he has his steers now. They fixed up three rooms and are supposed to be staying there, except they are at Rulas a lot. They have some chicks there. Pasture is in fine condition. I love my husband. I can't say how thankful I am you came through Africa campaign fine. But you understand. Love, Laura
