No. 94 Pvt. Lloyd Davis, 37420240 Co. [illegible] c/o Postmaster New York, New York Mrs. Lloyd Davis 817 19th St. SE Cedar Rapids, Iowa June 19, 1943 Dearest, More activities today. I washed some of the windows on inside, hung the new drapes in sun porch and did some laundry. Also bought a pair of white ruffled curtains for the bathroom. Ironed them and put them up. They are dainty but durable and, being all white, we can put as many red plaid towels in there as you desire without color crashing! All that this afternoon was done after finishing work at noon and before driving to Iowa City at supper time. Ardy and I got together picnic stuff and I drove Polly (and us!) to Iowa City. We got Kate B. Montague and had a steak fry in their city park. All was very fine except for the mosquitoes. Then we had lime ades in a restaurant, visited at Kate's room, then home at 11:30. Kate leaves Psycho Hosp June 30 to join Ernie at Camp Grant. She is afraid they can't get a good place to live. That shouldn't matter very much if they can be with each other. Kate is not as much of a housewife as Hazel, Ardy or I but now she will get practice. Goodnight laddie. I'll be in the place you fixed for me. Sometimes I dream of you. It is always good dreams. Not ever a nightmare. Love to my husband, Laura
