(CENSOR'S STAMP) Pvt. Lloyd Davis, 37420240 Co.D 39 Inf. Regt. APO 9 c/o Postmaster New York Mrs Lloyd Davis (Sender's name) 817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa June 28 1943 (Date) Dearest, Monday and again I did not do the washing on the "proper" day. But I do do the washing! Just seem to get it on the "wrong" day some times. The weather was fine and cool enough so I felt real ambition. But after considering the laundry, the need to mow the lawn and some ironing, I decided to compromise and do none of those things! So I went to a move "The Human Comedy". It was some sad but very well acted. I'm glad I saw it. It is a war picture - no war scenes, but the story of an American home with a soldier in the American army. Last night after I ate with Mrs Hunt and Missourians I came home after taking them for a very short turn around Ellis park. I sorted all the letters you ever sent me, and all those I sent you, and put them into boxes. I read a few of them, yours to me I mean. You've written to me as fine as you've talked tom me when we were together. But when you can tell by talking instead of by writing again I know we will both be very happy. I did not have as many people in for office hours today. Summer must be here! Goodnight laddie. I'll be in the pace you fixed pretty soon. It will be good just to think of you. I had a nice dream of you being here last night. Love, Laura V...-MAIL
