No. [103?] Pvt. Lloyd Davis, 3742240 Co D. 39th Inf. Regt. APO 9 % Postmaster New York, New York Mrs Lloyd Davis 817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa June 30, 1943 Dearest, The last day of the month so we had all kinds of office business. But the day went efficiently even if crowded. I wanted to do some extra work so [Flora?] worked for me after supper. Then I got us a snack at Garnets. [Flora?] missed work my dictation day last week, so she didn't mind giving me extra time, in fact she made the suggestion we work. But that took care of my evening so I don't have any interesting things to tell you. I did stop at Hazels on my way back to the office. I picked up some papers I borrowed for them, describing the acreage that [Paul?] would like to make a deal to get. I've hunted all the legal papers on it, so I guess they won't need any more help on that plot. But they probably can't get it, so if they get a lead on something else i'll probably be out hunting papers again. Irish called to borrow a key hole saw. There was none in the basement, and I didn't look in the attic chest because I didn't think it necessary to lend anything you'd put away there. And anyway he got one from someone else so everything was under good control! I love my husband. I'm just waiting until you can be here again. And while you are away we are still together. Goodnight laddie. Love, Laura
