No. 125 Pvt. Lloyd Davis, 37420240 Co. D. 39th Inf. Regt. APO 9 % Postmaster New York, New York Mrs. Lloyd Davis 817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa July 20, 1943 Dearest, It is really July 25, but I got this paper all fixed for your letter last Tuesday and then didn't get it written. I want you to have a letter for every day, so I'll write it now, as if it were the right day. I was pretty busy at work, but didn't have any troubles. Mr. Hodgson is letting me have some magazines on North Africa. And I'll sure study them over carefully and note the issue so you can find it some time. He still chuckles about the big snow storm. And he says he doesn't think I'm very sorry to find that Mussolini is sick about the bombing of Rome! That building on Vernal Street that no one could tell me about before, I mentioned in letters a long time ago, is a new job for the Hawkeye [Lumb.?] Company, I've decided. All that stuff about wheat storage space was mixed up ideas. I'm getting so efficient that the bed is made every morning, before going to work. Isn't that a big item!! I've got to work on the mantel clock, for the strike does not go right. I love my husband. Goodnight, Laura
