No. (CENSOR'S STAMP) To Pfc Lloyd Davis. 37420240 c/o Post Master New York. New York From L.B. Davis (Sender's Name) 2409 - D Ave N.E. (Sender's Address) Cedar Rapids, IA 26.S.R Sept-12-1943 Dear Lloyd It has been a long time since I have heard from you so will try and inform you what is going on here at home, we are having a cool spell for a change the mercury is around 40° in the mornings, hope winter does not set in yet. we see Laura quite often; she is getting along ok. business is good, but we are very short on help every body is in the same fix though so I guess it doesn't make much difference. The news about Italy sounds good over here but I. think it will be quite a job yet before you boys get them all straightened out over there and march into Berlin, wish I. were there to march along side of you. We had our third War band drive yesterday starting out with whistles blowing for fifteen minutes of the noon hour, and a large parade in the evening. the report today is good Cedar Rapids totaled $1000,000 for the first day. Well Lloyd this leaves us all well here, may this find you the same. Please let us hear from you soon. Jack V...-MAIL
