Davis (Sender's Name) 2409 - D Ave NE (Sender's Address) Cedar Rapids Iowa 10/1/43 (Date) Dear Lloyd we were glad to hear that you received our past letters so will hasten to get another on the way, things here are going along O.K, but war keeps every body on the jump, with the shortage of Man Power and. trying to keep. up to date with the ration stamps. The news sounds very good from [we?] hope it is all as good as it sounds. how do you like your present assignment? I hear from my friend Don Thede over there quite regular he sure has been right up in the thick of it most of the time Leona and I. were over to Laura's last saturday evening and repaired those leaky faucets, for her so - guess. every thing is pretty well under controll. With every body buying an extra war bond this month our quota should go way over the top for Iowa by the dead line which is set for Oct 2. we are investing every dime we can to help support you boys over there. well old Tap hope this finds you in good health.
