IA Oct 2 1943 (Date) Dear Slim: Don't you think it about time for me to write a letter? Received your Oct 1. do have so many things to tell you I don't know where to start. We are living on the farm now it sure seems good to be back. Am milking 3 cows now and expect to have more also have 9 pigs & 19 steers. Every thing is going along find. I have bought a corn picker as you know how I [ap?] to pick. Colet sure is big girl now she talks more every day and does like her old Man. She probably wont know you when you come back but it don't take long before she is all over you. Mahone fixed up three room in the house here and it is nice. haven't had time to fix the water system yet. Boy it sure is a job to try and write or Colet is right here and she wants to write to Unk Simm so Look for another letter in the ray mail with some pictures of her a little later on.
