July 4 (1942) Dear Laura: Arrived here about 9:30 AM didn't do much after that they told us to take it easy till Monday morn' we have cots in a new building it is cool & light we all took a shower & shaved & just rest, The Cedar Rapids people put on quite a show I didnt mind it so much. There is a lot of water around here the Missouri & Miss. are both high
