Dear Laura Frances: So you landed at Centerville - almost in Missouri. Am sorry it wasn't Des Moines. I can just see the Continental Hotel! Do you think you will be able to find an acceptable place to live? I hope you won't miss CR and your friends there too much and that you will like your new work. Are you called a director of Child Welfare, or what? What is the set-up? I think you have done very well with your "opportunities" and I'm proud of you. Mama wrote me that the dining room table I sent was very satisfactory. It will extend to seat 10 but can be folded down quite small - will give them considerably more room. Have not heard from Bess or anyone else. Probably there is a reason. I am changing jobs on November 1.
