SEABEES NAVY CONSTRUCTION TRAINING CENTER NAVAL OPERATING BASE NORFOLK, VA. Co. B, Plt. 5, Batt. 26 A.B.D. Gulfport, Miss. October 28, 1942 Dear Frances, I still have some of the old sationery but a new address as you will notice. Your letter came the afternoon we left camp Bradford. I was home for two days of the five-day leave. It was sort of a miserable trip on the special train to Chicago. The train was of coaches of the rattling good type. The barley-corn flowed freely and the aisles served as berths. Of course a few got left now and then when they wandered off the train at stops along the way. There are a few who didn't come back yet. Even here we have more candidates than the eight-man brig will hold. Guess they will
