Saving...
say this camp was farmland last year. Looks like it will be big when it is full-grown. They work on it day and night and Sunday. Don't suppose we'll be here more than a couple weeks. Had our shot for yellow fever Friday. Have most of our equipment now. We don't work much around the camp; most of the time is spent in drill or guard duty. Suppose you are still on the job at Cedar Rapids. Haven't heard anything to the contrary. Seems that the folks at home are as usual. They were getting along very well when I was home. The country we crossed on the way out here didn't look much like farmland. Of course at this time of year the South would wash away if the land wasn't covered with weeds and trash. Imagine it would look better in the summer. Saw a lot of rocks and cactus in the Southeast. Our next trip will be by boat. no doubt. Hope you are well. I feel fine and have gained some weight. We lay away the groceries. Maybe you saw how it was when you visited Lloyd. Let me hear from you sometime before we move again. Love, Maurice
