FT Dodge Nov. 23' - 42- Dear Frances, I received the nice candy you sent and thank you so much for thinking of me and my birthday. I have been thinking of you very often and wondering if Lloyd has been moved. I am very glad you have your job, when one is well and able to work it helps a lot I think. Do you still visit in the country too as you did? or is the work all in the city? The weather has been fine, no snow and ground not frozen. They have the plowing and corn picking done and have been fixing some fence there is always some such work but they are pretty well through with the things that had to be done before it froze up. Freda was afraid the weather would turn bad so she started home the next Thursday after you were here she said just a week She wrote they got along all right. I think she did well to come. I fear it will not be possible net year on account of gas. I havent heard from Maurice since he sent me his San Francisco address perhaps he has written you I wrote to him about a week ago but it takes so long before he gets it and he may not be there now but he said that would be address whether he was in the states or elswhere. I had cards from Cecil and Bessie a letter from Ida. I must write to them and as I do not see very well it is a poor job when I get it done. Aunt Bess is at home. Cora has been sick with shingles but was getting better the last I heard. This is a poor letter but it carries lots of love to you and Lloyd. From Mother -
