Saving...
Dearest, Monday is wash day, but I didn't wash! I got most of the clothes washed last week, but it is the ironing that will have to be done on Monday - maybe! // Cold spring day but lots of sunshine. So we know winter has gone now. // I couldn't buy glasses like you asked for, and since you have several pair here, I'm sending one of them. I know you consider them special pets, but I don't know when you will ever need them more than now. Riggs packed them so I hope they arrive in good shape. If they don't, then I'll try again. I also got a helmet steel mirror but I'll send it in a photo folder so that the glasses won't be broken by it. It does a lot for me to think there is such a tiny bit of shopping as that that I can do for you. I always loved to get errands done for you, even so long ago as when you asked for big salt and pepper shakers. It isn't the bigness of something one can do for a loved one, but just any personal service or helping to fulfill some little wish. Maybe the things will never get to you, but we can at least try. // Esther Flitsch is here this evening. We have been doing a lot of visiting. // Carl is on days for a while until they get the Hall Bldg in shape. Then he'll be on the old 11 to 7 shift. He's enjoying the evenings home now with Hazel even if it is only a short time. // Talked to Rose tonight. I've tried since Sat. to get them to tell of your letter. In their own way they appreciate it I guess. Geo hasn't any stock yet and he'll have to hurry to get going this year. But of course I never say a thing about that at all. // I love my husband. Love, Laura [smiley face]
