Saving...
But not as my partner in an establishment -- rather as our temporary guest in the home you & I have. Is that not right? I could write pages about the war news that comes to us. You are in the midst of part of that. The radio program was interrupted a little while ago to say the King of Italy had abdicated. The Catholic Church & the King are in close agreement compared to Mussolini & the Church I think. Soon we'll know the effect on the war the abdication will have. Churchill & Roosevelt are talking in Washington and a peace with Italy is hinted. Before you ever receive this we'll all know more of that too. At best all those of us at home are only arm chair warriors and politicians! Now Wm Shirer just said both these reports I mentioned should be taken with a grain of salt unless they were confirmed! So it goes.
