Saving...
Jan 4, 1942 Tues nite 7:00 Dearest:- Hear we are at Rochester we left home at 12:30, made one stop for gas I wanted to start at 11:00 but John had to write a big letter for the doctors up here he went over to Mercy and got the tumor they removed there & sent a piece of it along. John seemed to be in a big hurry to get her up here he didn't say much about the leg it seems to be the head he is concerned about he wanted us to come here rather than Iowa City, why I dont know George was coming along but we changed that, I intend to stay for a while anyway I told the county boys I was going and that is about all. Freddie & Behrens were in the office this morning when I turned in the sheets I told them I was going & didn't know when I would be back. Behrens was real deasent It was a terrible day as far a weather is concerned
