Saving...
603 Grand Ave Ames, Iowa February 18, 1942 Dear Frances, It is about time the "spirits" moved me to write you a line. I don't mean that the line should be in quotes, but it is a job to get the spirits and the line together. From your letter, I judge you have now finished your work at Centerville. A pleasant relief, no doubt, under the circumstances. Hope you taught those little boys how to manage their tobacco without influencing the other school boys. I might answer some of your questions, especially those concerning me. My request for draft deferment was granted until June 10 That is all I expected. Tom had not received his questionnaire when I was home. Everyone at home is "as usual". Of course I'm always busy, more or less, but could take time to visit you all on the week end of the 28th. A week later would be getting close to the end of the quarter and the date when I better learn something about the seven courses that take me. If it's agreeable to you all try to come down a week from Saturday. Love Maurice
