Saving...
April 30, 1942 1140 N. La Salle Chicago, Ill. Dear Frances, I've been wondering about your long silence - do I owe you a letter that you are "sitting tight" until I answer, or has matrimony paralyzed your right arm? How is your mother-in-law? It has been very hot here - like summer. The lilacs are out, fully two weeks ahead of lots of years. Maybe Nature has decided to speed up, since it is being done on all sides. Had a letter from mama. She has not been as well as usual. Was in bed last week - no new ailment. I hope you write to her fairly often, even if you haven't any great news. She gets pretty lonesome, especially when she is feeling badly. I was home for three days at Easter. She felt pretty good then, but I suppose has been working too hard. Am pretty busy at work - got to graduate the "kids" come June 12. Love, S.H.
