May 29, 1930 1942 Chicago, Ill. Dear Frances: Aunt Bess has been at Excelsior Springs, Missouri, for about 3 weeks now. She went there with Mrs. Herbst and while there decided to take treatments - colonic irrigation, drink the spring water, etc. She also had a rectal operation. She had been out home previous to that and was in bad shape. Had had, among other things, a red streak appear suddenly across her eyeball, stay all night & then gradually go away, leaving her sight dim. Doc. there things it was her optic nerve - didn't say how affected. But he is not an eye specialist. I don't think her stay there has done her any good, and I think she is in pretty bad shape. She thinks she should see an eye specialist and I reckon she should. Do you know anything about the Clinics in Iowa City. I suppose they have eye specialists. How would anyone like Aunt Bess go
