Hdg. Co. 26th N.C.B. Sec. 1 Fleet P.O. San Francisco 23 January 1945 Dear Frances, Tis about time I wrote you a line, my quaterly report, so to speak. The past quarter was more prosy, and profitable in some respects, then the preceeding period in the states. That's about the size of the situation I don't imagine there will be many changes this year. I did get your letters and also the last which arrived in good shape. Needless to say, its shape has long since changed. You know howthat is . Thanks for your thought and trouble. Did you go home over the holidays ? Thought you might have been able to make it. Doubt if anyone else did. Apparently everything is much the same. From reports, you've had some real winter weather - including ours too. Had some snow at one time but it didn't laast long except in the mountains, where it will likely remain'til summer. At least it improves the natural scenery when it is clear enough for one to see even that short distance. Just in case you need some room in the (bank box?), you mignt throw out some of my Maurice Hutchison s c 2/c
