Incidentally, Mary - I have been able to discover nothing concerning [Manitain's?] lecture - he was not included in a list of speakers who are to appear here during the year. The first concert of the year is October 26th: Nino Martini, if you happen to be interested. I started to write something for the Scribner contest before the assignments started piling up, but now I don't see how I will handle it. Besides I get very discouraged whenever I try to write anything - don't know how I ever will write at that rate. If you happen to come down Sunday would you bring my raincoat (it poured yesterday) and my overcoat - also, a laundry bag. Thanks for the Shakespeare. Love, Joseph
