a beautiful sight, our sleeping in them is very comfortable, I would not ask for better, that is, for Camp life. Indeed I prefer them to a tight board plastered house for summer. they are very cool places in the night but when the suns shines on them at day time, they are very hot. Fondu Lac is not a pretty place the city smells strong of Lumber, this is the principle export of this part of the state, the streets are very bad, the ends of plank sticking up in all directions making it exceedingly uncomfortable to ride over them there are some rather good looking blocks in town, but mostly one story houses and stores, there are a number of streams that flow sluggishly
