At this we soon became very tired without finding anything in anyway approaching the desirability of our first choice. Finally we gave it up and drove home. As soon as I could get Colonel McCabe on the telephone I reported our movements to him, and so enthusiastically described the big house that he vowed we had to have it and we were going to get it. There the matter rests, and I have hopes that what Pozzi and I congratulated each other on as being excellent staff work when we arranged first to get the house will not be lost.
