Despite so many precautions you will still have many mistakes to correct, and I am sure you will smile in reading this. I was able to translate your letter but only completely with aid of M Hartzell. We both have the happiest recollections of your visit with us, and we will be very glad to hear you again at our house if circumstances came you to return to this part of the country. In the neartime it will give us great pleasure, if you will let us know how you are and how you are getting along. The friendship which exists between France and America is
