remind me of you it would help. But I never do. In a small town like this there is very little about the girls and women to suggest memories of home. They are usually seen dressed in dull, shapeless clothes and cotton socks and felt slippers with their hair in papers. They might look all right dressed up but they surely are not easy to look at ordinarily. The few who appear dolled up have the hot-house appearance. Lord, give me the sight of some American women and particularly the best of all of them - my own beautiful, saucy wife! Last night I was thinking about you (sure 'nuff!) and about how we told each other last winter that the happiness of our little time together would make up - and last over for any period of separation. I wondered if I still felt that way, and decided that I did. The excitement of those wonderful days has subsided without in any way destroying their splendor.
