cake; I think that is needed to increase my efficiency and the good spirit of the comrades with whom I shall share it. So I'll send a formal request for it, too. Instead of buying cigars for me you'd better blow the price on a party for yourself and mother. I am now able to buy very good cigars from the commissary for less than you could buy them at home owing to the fact that the government has no shipping charges or revenue tax to pay. You are a good old dear to want to do it; your suggestion of it means as much to me as if you were to send them.
