now on they can't go any too rapidly to bring me to the day when the house of Reynolds, Conger, can be established with both members present. I have been reading the letters of Richard Harding Davis. One he wrote to his wife from some war or other that was compelling him to be away from her contained a paragraph which expresses my feeling. I don't remember the words exactly but they were something like this: "I love my country and I am glad to do this for it but I hope I never love another country."
