evening grind. A letter came today from Mr. Do-flop. He says he enjoyed you letter. I'll send you his when I have answered it. By the time this reaches you I suppose we shall again be in the anxious period of another German drive. It is generally believed that it will start within the next two weeks. Nobody is worried at the prospect. Even the Germans appear to realize that their gains in March were not worth the cost. Unless in their second attempt they can gain some important strategical advantage such as possession of the channel ports or separation of the French and British
