with all they could give were some from the old home state. I am a bit fearful some of my personal friends may have been among them, and feel very deeply in any event for the good folks back there who will get the blow too. There's the other side of being at war in France - the side that takes all the joy out of even the pleasantest features. From all the reports tonight it looks as if the second German offensive has started. We had expected it to begin May 25. When that date passed with nothing happening it looked as if it might be delayed as long as until early in June. Now it appears that our first expectation was not far wrong. I don't altogether
