shadows as the purple haze of twilight crept up over the hills. Below us there was a waterfall or dam on either side of the river the banks were a hundred feet high of solid red rock terraced so that we could easily climb down even to the edge of the water. Here we spread our supper on a wide flat table of rock and then sat down with our feet hanging just above the water, completely hidden from the world above, by rock and the ever greens growing from their crevices.
