family is making by eating corn bread so you may have the wheat flour and sugar in your cake. You can fully appreciate that sacrifice when I tell you that the kids will do anything under the sun to bribe Mama to make "corn-dodgers" for them, and a plate of them melts away at a meal just like the "Ole" used to melt on the Cottey table.
