My new billet is very comfortable now.  The madame has put in an armoire to hold my clothes (there being no closet) and a larger and more comfortable bed.  The minute I came in last night she rushed downstairs to make sure that I would notice the changes and to receive my proper enthusiastic comments on them. Evidently she wants me to stay.  I still lack electric lights and steam heat and bath, but a fellow can't have everything in the trenches like this.  I'm really very comfortably situated.  So far I have spent no time here except in the late evening writing and the night asleep, but the place is handy enough for me to slip over in the daytime to read and write when I have time and inclination.
Tomorrow I am to go to G.H.Q. again for an important conference.  As I shall want to have my thinker working smoothly for it I had better go bye-bye now.
