[9-23-18] My Own,-- 'Scuse, please, the paper. It's all I have at present, and I want to get a letter off to you today. Two came from you this morning, dated Sept. 1st, and August 31st. The latter made me just a bit unhappy. Dearest, dearest, dearest! You must not be jealous of anyone. You are my whole world -- the nucleus of every little scheme or plan I make -- the inspiration of every happy thought. Never doubt for a minute that my love is yours, and yours alone. If it had not been, sweetheart, why need I have married you at all? Don't answer
