Last night Julie was here to dinner and afterward I went home with her to spend the night, because Fred was in Chi. He came home this morning and brought me -- you'd never guess, but golly, it was good. Shocked? It's a secret! Don't tell. This morning I met Mama and we went down to look at some sales. I got a tablecloth that I've been admiring for long, but heavens! linens are frightfully high. I do hope you get some before you come home. This one I shall doll all up with hand made lace. We'll have pretty linen, even if I can't cook. Ruby has at last finished the sheets, etc. she has been making for us, and they are really very nice considering how little the child knows about some things. I'm pleased to pieces with them. There are two sheets, of course, the upper one being trimmed with crochetting which she did, all by herse'f. The "etc" consists of pillow cases, a guest towel and two or three runners
