Paris, January 12. 1919 Daphne dearest,- Before I got bed I want to say howdy and tell you that I love you. Love you ah sho do, lady. I have just come in from a stroll down the Champs Elysees, rue Royale, Boulevard des Capucines, and Avenue de l'Opera and a ride home in the subway. For January the weather is lovely; it's like late March or April at home. Some clouds dripped a little during part of my walk but most of the time the moon was shining. Late in the afternoon I had walked out the Roquise de Bois de Boulogne and in the Bois awhile. After seeing that avenue I'm nearly heady to hand it the palm over the Champs Elysees. It is splen-
