PM 1/13/1919 Belovedest, - How do you like it? For my part I am thoroughly delighted. It begins its service at least by being the sort of pen I have dreamed of owning someday. It writes plainly and clearly with no great expenditure of effort. I am very grateful for it, dear. And for the candy and nuts I thank you beaucoup. I nearly ruined my tummy by overfilling after the box came this afternoon. That stuff was so tasty - I couldn't leave it alone. It was almost too sweet of you to fill the box that way. You certainly are good to your old friend Hubby. Did I tell you that I have a birthday gift for you? I am not sending it by mail
