I hope to recover it before I leave France. By the way, have you any further suggestions about things I might buy for our joint (!) ? You'll just about get an answer to me in time for me to get anything if I manage to pull away two months hence. Shall I try to bring some China? And what about draperies? Both are things I'd like you to choose but if you say so I'll get some. I'd like to pick up some paintings, but before buying the only sort we'd want which cost money - I suppose we had better get necessities such as gas stoves,
