Homer Paris, January 15. 1919 Sweetheart o'Mine, - Stay-at-home I am again tonight at least from nine rings on. Earlier I was out to dinner at the apartment of some officers as a sort of ruse to find out whether I want to take the place among them of a friend of mind who is leaving. I haven't quite decided about it yet, but I wouldn't wonder if I joined them. I'm feeling pretty much cut up over having heard today of the death of Homer Roland. I have spoken of him in previous letters. He was in my classes for two years at the University and, as Editor of the daily, under my direction.
