found out where he is buried at my first opportunity I shall go out and see that his grave is properly decorated. Then I shall write to his father and the folks in Iowa City to tell them how nobly he died. He certainly died for his country as much as any soldier who fell in battle. He was unsaving of himself in what he knew was a most important service. The actual fighting is only a little part of winning victories nowadays. Homer was intelligent enough to know that, to know that his job was as important as that of the doughboy out in front. And his zeal to help win kept him going to fulfill his ideal of service far beyond the limit of his physical powers. I never realized until today how fond I was of him.
