Sunday night January 19, 1919 Daphne, honey, - This is the close of another day - no, not perfect; there was sadness in it. After working all morning I went out this afternoon, walking some three miles, to Suresnes to locate Homer Roland's grave. The cemetery is in a rather pretty and romantic spot on the heights across the Seine overlooking the valley and Paris in the distance. Being new, however, it is a bleak, unlovely, stretch of yellow clay, grassed over in only a few spots and adorned only by the severe white crosses marking graves.
