chummy about this phase of things until in these last two letters you share with me quite as matter-of-factly as you should the plain facts about the situation. That is another nice evidence of the accord in all things that experience is building for us upon the foundation of the love that binds us, or, to put it otherwise, the background of our happiness. Just now the responsibility is not fairly divided; you have more than your share of the figuring to do. I'll be mighty glad when I can relieve you of managing about the dollars and cents. But, even then, I'll want to feel that I can ask your opinion about how we are to proceed and tell you what our bank balance is without annoying you. Financial problems become fun instead of trouble when they can be freely shared. Your concern about the way your money goes seems to me quite unnecessary. I marvel that
