Saving...
notion again because otherwise I'd have had to bring you to it by the iron hand. I can't wait to see you until I get clear to Cedar Rapids and I want to see you anyway before I have to face those terrible teasers. Someone said 't'other day that officers are given ten days leave after disembarking and then have to report back at New York for discharge in ten days. If that's true, you'll probably have to come to New York. There would be no percentage in my going home, coming back again, and going home. It would be better for you to join me for ten days of New York as a jubilee. Extravagant? Sure, but there will probably be but once we can have a honeymoon and celebrate my return from the great War at the same time. I'll quit smoking for a year to pay for it if necessary. Or, if I don't have any time in New York, suppose we meet in Chicago. That would easier for you and assure us that train ride with no parting at the end.
