Saving...
and lots of girls are doing it. Of course if you really shouldn't like me to, I'd not do it, but dear, I can't see any real reason why you'd object. We'll be more or less unsettled until your work begins in Iowa City, anyway. What do you think? I'm going to continue planning on meeting you in N.Y. and then if you can cable me so I'll know about when you expect to sail it will give me a little time to pack my other shirt and an extra collar. Even if I am there a little too soon it wont hurt, because I know enough people so I'll be taken care of. Dear! I wish I knew a bit more about this. However I'll leave it to you to do the very best you can. The little cups came thru without a scratch, and no duty! They are so cute. Too bad about the bedding roll, but I'm hoping it will appear. So glad you sent Father a helmet. He is simply delighted. Write mother oftener if you can dear, even at the sacrifice of letters to me. Both she & Father look forward so to your letters. I love you so, dearest, and you are coming back to Your own Wif [arrow] etc.
